I'm still looking for a few more doll pictures for my forthcoming YouTube Vitas video http://community.livejournal.com/thrifthorror/295004.html A big thank you to those who have already contributed pictures, who will of course be credited. Contributions don't have to be new - archive thrifthorror photos are equally welcome.

This one's probably the best candidate since she's a bona fide speaking doll. Her catchphrases include "I love you Mommy!" and "Read me a story please!" Perhaps the most disturbing thing is that if I found a version of her dress in my size I'd wear it...

Alright ladies and gentleman. I'm not sure if this is saucy, but this room is just not going to ever get any better than this. And, this is the last chance to document this space, because after seven years it's finally time to move on. I start packing next week, we're moving. This has been the space and place where I have been figuring it out, making it work, developing a style, and finally, creating a successful art business and supporting myself. The room and I have grown around and into each other over the past 7 years, everything is in constant motion. The walls are perforated with a thousand push-pins. I never replaced that horrid pink carpeting, I never took down the wallpaper border that I hate more than anything - of course now that we have tenants moving in soon, we're replacing everything. Go fig. But for today, it's still my room and I'd like to invite you in for a beer.

picture HEAVY. ( ode to a room )

So I finally (after two years of questing) found crocus bulbs. Pickwick, unless I'm mistaken. Only question: Can I plant them in a six inch pot now and leave it outside for the winter so they'll bloom for spring? And how long after I plant them before I can dig them up to separate bulbs?
Anybody else who grows spring bulbs in pots outdoors?
Question coming from outside Philly, PA, zone 6b/7a.

Took a trip down to the local thrift store to look for a new Winter coat because it is freakin' freezing all the freakin' time these days...
So there I am, sifting through the (mostly unfortunate) merchandise, when I come upon the most unfortunate.

UM WHAT IS THAT YOU HAVE THERE COAT?

Oh. Oh no.

| NBR Thursday — H1N1 & H1N1 Flu Shot |
[12 Nov 2009|01:40pm] |
Today is...
Not Beauty Related Thursday!
.::applauds::.
So tell me, did you guys get yourselves vaccinated or are going to?
I've decided that I will not be getting it for myself or my kids. And I told my fiance not to get it either. I just feel that it hasn't been around long enough and no one can say exactly what the side effects are in the long run. I don't know, I feel like the vaccine was made in a rush without thorough research.
As for the H1N1 virus itself, I am also not sure if it is as malignant as the media have made it to. I mean, people die from the regular flu all the time and those are usually the same people that have died from the H1N1 already — people who have underlying health issues. I think if you are not in the high risk category, just taking the extra precautions to protect yourself such as washing/sanitizing your hands regularly, coughing into your sleeves, and eating healthy will be a good way to abstain from the virus.
What do you think? I'd like to hear (read) your opinions. And pls, no flaming! I know, no one ever does that here, but just saying.

Hello, everyone. I'm really excited to be posting my VERY FIRST AFTER PICTURES! My home is 1950 cypress built. When I got the house, pretty much everything was pink (including the molding). What started out as a little project became a pain in the neck for me and my dad and a gut job.
In the end, I wanted something relaxing that would not overwhelm such a small space. I added a touch of royalty for my little girl, and voila.

( before & after! )
Thanks for looking!
